Oliver Stone’s “JFK” is a frightful myth that revolves around the whole mystery around President Kennedy’s assassination. While it is a dramatic record and Stone most likely crooked a few things to originate this a more relevant and better movie, it is quiet an undeniable powerhouse that has you go through a whole site of emotions, ranging from anxiety, exasperate, paranoia and sadness. President Kennedy has been assassinated. Lee Harvey Oswald is the suspect and gets shot shortly after. There is a secretive and brief hearing on the whole assassination, and it is in stone that Oswald was a lone gunman and nobody else was interested. Seems like an open-and-shut-case, but District Attorney Jim Garrison isn’t willing to steal it. With his staff, they resolve to work on the case, until they are shut down by the government. Three years later, Garrison isn’t willing to stand by in silence anymore and decides to go ahead with the case. The further he digs, the more foul truths he uncovers. Not only that, but people high up in the ranks are willing to do anything to beget definite that the American Public will never fetch out about them.

As I said, this isn’t meant to be an entirely lawful portrayal of how everything happened. It suggests to you that it could’ve been this plot, and it even does a excellent job of presenting its case to you. What I contemplate Stone was trying to effect was to make his bear commentary on how people feel about the handling of the whole assassination and how sloppily the case was handled. The film wasn’t made to merely exploit the death of Kennedy, but what it does exploit is the fact that we’re willing to contain anything they yell us in the media. It’s a hard thought to seize, because it’s not too far from the truth. The movie is brilliantly directed and well-acted. Kevin Costner gives one of the best performances of his career. The film has a whole list of distinguished actors in it, like Gary Oldman, Kevin Bacon, Tommy Lee Jones, Joe Pesci, Sissy Spacek and a whole bunch more. They are all improbable in their roles.

A word of warning; this is a VERY LONG movie. It is about 3 and a half hours long in running time. If you want to notice this, then you have to really commit to it. If you’re not in the mood for a very lengthy movie, then you will not be able to savor this. The current 2-Disc Special Edition offers a remastered director’s gash that looks and sounds big. Another keen feature is the documentary, “Beyond JFK: The Inquire of Conspiracy.” Extras included are deleted/extended scenes, commentary from the director, theatrical trailer, essays and DVD-ROM features. A very nice package that does the film justice.

JFK” is an astounding portray that did not bore me for a single second. Not only does it work as a great drama, but it also works as an intense thriller. Did everything happen the blueprint the movie proposes? Maybe, maybe not. What the film does is earn you contemplate about everything that happened around the assassination. Any film that can find the brain thinking is more than okay in my book. A very character-driven and passionate chronicle that is perfectly executed by Oliver Stone.

Oliver Stone uses facts,speculation and some dramatic liscense to bring us this racy search for support at the aftermath of the Kennedy assassination.The Current Orleans District Attorney at the time of the abolish was Jim Garrison(Kevin Costner), who uncovers a chain of evidence that leads aid to his city and a possible conspiracy theory.He persues the evidence,witnesses, and suspects, and finally years later brings the first and only trial of the conspiracy theory to the courts.

Stone’s tantalizing film unpeels the layers of this “mystery wrapped in an enigma” by following Garrison and his staff’s endless investigation into the facts.Interviews with the witnesses that heard and saw shots coming from the “grassy knoll” station, the “magic bullet” theory,which showed that there was more than one rifle and more than three bullets shot(as previously stated in the Warren Commission describe) and conflicting autopsy reports to name a few.

Garrison also has conversations with a man called”X”, who relays information critical to the case that causes us to ponder not who or how many shot Kennedy, but WHY was he assasinated. Speculation on this leads to one theory, the discovery that Kennedy had status a notion in motion to pull out of Viet Nam, but there were many grand people against this(ranging from the mafia all the intention to the White House), and the day of Kennedy’s funeral Lyndon Johnson signed documents that in enact brought us rotund force into Viet Nam.Other theories are also brought to light.

The film,based on Jim Garrison’s books, is outstanding in all respects. It looks at all of the issues and will support you intrigued until the slay. There is true footage of the day of the assassination incorporated, and the photography going from color to dismal and white(in the flashbacks) is beneficial. There are so many lovely performances, I’ll unprejudiced name a few. Kevin Costner anchors this splendid cast as the outrageous key Garrison, Tommy Lee Jones is Clay Shaw,the only suspect brought to trial. Kevin Bacon as a key glimpse, Joe Pesci is astonishing as David Ferrie, the paranoid link to everyone, and Gary Oldman IS Lee Harvey Oswald! Donald Sutherland is the mysterious “X”. The Musical Come By by John Williams adds greatly to the film.

In most cases I usually notion the “extras” on a DVD as a bonus. In this case I was as enthralled by these features as I was by the film. They were welcome additons to this film of historical importance. Some included are interviews with the precise”X”, this was very enligthning,and novel and updated information on the evidence surrounding this 40 year weak mystery. There are also deleted/extended scenes with or without Stone’s commentary and more. There are also subtitles in English Frensh, Spanish and Portugese if needed.The widescreen,clarity of represent and sound is as unbelievable as the film. MAD MEN is one of those series that is almost impossible to praise too highly. It is also one of those series that puts on demonstrate the inherent superiority of television to the movies. That is a sentiment that I glean offends many, but one that more and more thinking men and women are coming to embrace as television gradually turns out one amazingly quick-witted series after another. Weiner won and Hamm went on to score a Golden Globe and an Emmy nomination (which he should have won) . As portrayed by Hamm, Don Draper is the complete embodiment of Thoreau’s individual who lives a life of still desperation. Draper is a world of contraditions. At times unscrupulous, he is also trustworthy of gargantuan magnanimity and factual rectitude. A womanizer, he yearns for the ideal home.

The cast is stuffed with substantial characters and incredible performances. I absolutely detested Vincent Kartheiser as Connor on the series ANGEL, though even then I suspected it was more the procedure he was written than his performance. Though he isn’t asked to execute acts of valorous do on Aroused MEN, he is exceptional as Peter Campbell. Like Don Draper he alternates from petty, self-serving moments to acts of kindness and loyalty. He is trustworthy of being wonderfully protective of Peggy Olson, a woman with whom he has had a couple of moments of physical intimacy, though he can also behave viciously towards her. John Slattery is outstanding as Roger Edifying, the number two man in the firm and the son of the Sterling-Cooper cofounder. Robert Morse, the mountainous Broadway musical star of the sixties (including HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING), plays Betram Cooper, the head of the firm. The almost unbearably delicate January Jones (at one point in the season grand is made of her resemblence to Grace Kelly, and she is glorious enough to fabricate it not a funny compliment) . Not to jump ahead to Season Two, Jones performance over the two seasons as Don Draper’s trophy wife Betty is noting short of shimmering. Betty is someone who detests her life as a elegant manikin, but isn’t able to accomplish happiness because she doesn’t know who she wants to become. She also provides many of Season One’s mountainous moments, none better than when she starts killing the carrier pigeons of her next door neighbor with an air rifle (with cigarette dangling from her mouth) after he tells her children that he will waste their dog if they don’t retain him out of his yard. The pleasing Christina Hendricks (who wears some padding to construct her figure more Rubenesque and who was incredible in the recurring role of Saffron on the Sci-fi series FIREFLY) plays Joan Holloway, the office manager.

As far as a blu-ray goes, this is perfect. The video is unbelievable, same with the audio, and it is stuffed with extras, including over 18 hours in audio commentary. There is another extra that is 1 hour long that is VERY respectable, and I recommend checking it out after you carry out watching the series.

This is one of those rare gems — a movie based on a stage play that is suitable to the fresh.

The premise is simple: a man and a woman happen to meet at a romantic Pacific glide inn in the 1950s, exercise a night together, and peer that they’re both married — with children, no less! How do they deal with it? Well, after getting past the initial shock and guilt (she yells into a towel, he lies about his wife’s name and the number of children he has), they agree to meet every year, same weekend, same residence. We, the audience, are allowed to examine every 5th meeting in the same room.

We explore the changes in the relationship, the changes in each of the participants, the changing times. We salvage to know Doris and George through these slices of time, laugh with them, sob with them, always with the request — will they ever leave their respective partners and follow their hearts? It’s definitely a relationship based more on mutual respect and friendship, despite its extra-marital foundation. You find the feeling that these two individuals are truly soul-mates who unbiased happened to meet.

This is definitely worth seeing for the top-notch performances of Alda and Burstyn.

This movie brilliantly explores the plan of the stable and sustainable affair, built by two people so responsible and so “nice” they would never perceive such a thing, and once there never want pain to their spouses – but who fetch their current admire as compelling as their first and as impossible to leave. The origin of the affair here is almost an afterthought – the staunch focus is on the maturing of the modern relationship across a astronomical span of years.

This movie resonates with me because it is my epic – after finding one who would have been the worship of my life more than 20 years ago but who was then engaged, I did the “capable” thing and let her go but never stopped loving her. Meeting again several years ago, we realized the mistake and despite both being married with children we began to meet once a year at a college reunion, holding that time aside for us while the rest of the year belonged to our spouses. The affair was not destined to mirror STNY (how did they ever sustain it secret? We couldn’t…) but the feelings haven’t changed – I impartial don’t have the annual weekend to behold forward to anymore…!!

The message of this movie that resonates so strongly is that it is possible to adore two people deeply and romantically – and to retain such feelings – and responsibilities – over a very long period. A true minefield? Of course – but far from the typical Hollywood fantasy that filmgoers have effort identifying with.

The movie for me was a recognize of a place that I have lived with for a long time – and I would wager that there are many like me who catch concept and solace in this film. However, it is not only for those who can identify with the message – it brilliantly challenges your assumptions and world understanding as the best movies tend to do.

I cannot notice this film without crying at the ending – you are brought along in caring about the characters so strongly that their care for becomes something that matters to you too.

Having aged out more than one copy of the VHS movie, I have desperately waited for its DVD release – and am absolutely thrilled tonight. I will be pre-ordering it immediately (maybe a couple copies…)

This movie may not be extraordinary for those who dismiss adultery as spoiled without request – but if you are willing to lower the barriers for two hours to at least hear out another side to the fable, you will be richly rewarded.

I’ve been a Believe for the past 12 years. Often when selecting a jury the attorneys will ask the jurors “who watches Boston Accurate? ” Attorneys laugh and say “well this is not TV this is reality.” I want to jump off the bench and wail “so is considerable of Boston Honest”, but I can’t. Boston Accurate is a true hoot. For any attoney who has worked in a mountainous law firm you can recognize many of the same people you work with in the Boston Factual characters. Denny Crane is the man and I can yelp you that many of his likes exist in the right system. They are a royal afflict to Judges. You either worship them or despise them. Spacious epic lines and improbable casting keeps this Believe smiling.

A Peabody award for 2nd season and rightly so!! I’m 65 and beside West Skim and Commander In Chief (both going off the air, I guess) this display is always a don’t miss and if it’s a command, glance it again. I often tumble asleep before I can carry out it due to the many commercial interruptions so I gave up and tape all the shows now and explore again with the fleet forward button for those annoying commercials. Vast Expose!!! The entire cast is wonderful but Spader and Shatner are the stars objective because of their chemistry and the Tall WRITING!! Can’t wait for the second season to approach out on DVD as well! I don’t steal TV shows, except for the British “Keeping Up Appearances” but this is a obvious consume!!! Can’t wait to rep it and see the entire first season without interruption!!

“Last of the Dogmen” is a glorious fable that takes my breath away everytime I peruse it. As far as the yarn, there is something so gracious, so principal about the values displayed by Lewis and Lilly in regard to their discovery of the lost tribe of Cheyenne. The native american characters are proper people, not “Indians.” The actors that portrayed these roles did an outstanding and commendable job of portraying the Cheyenne people with dignity, humanity, and respect. The Cheyenne costumes, language, and customs were authentic.

The collect of this film is passionate and tantalizing. It throbs with romance, majestic beauty, and life to the beat of a native american drum.

In essence the film evoked for me purity, passion, wonder, and respect for life. If these are qualities that you bask in in a narrative, you won’t be disappointed.

a lot of fun nonetheless. The acting is splendid – Gwyneth Paltrow is
glorious, Judi Dench is astounding, Geoffrey Hasten is hilarious, and
Joseph Fiennes is the hottest thing to approach along since his older
brother! I admire the ending especially – Twelfth Night is my favorite
Shakespearean play, and the last line impartial speaks volumes: “For
she will be my heroine for all time, and her name will be Viola.”
Perhaps the best thing about the film is the arrangement it blends comedy and
tragedy together in such a bittersweet map.

One final note: I too
was surprised that this film won Best Narrate, because I also loved
Saving Private Ryan. Both films were cinematic masterpieces of very
different kinds, and both were equally respectable. I’m gratified the Academy

Norman and Tom Stoppard must have loved their subject matter,
researched the period with zeal as well as having the ability to

This interest takes him to the actor’s
home, where Tomas Kent transforms himself into Viola De Lesseps the
refined daughter of a wealthy merchant. This magic act is only
possible because of the artful protection offered by Viola’s nurse and
part time confidant, played by Imelda Staunton. And as with Clarke
Kent, no one can penetrate the cunning disguise of Mr Thomas Kent,
except for a safe ferryman. And it is this very ferryman that puts
William on the legal path in his pursuit of the lady Viola.

And so we pick up the privilege of watching William Shakespeare give
birth to the Celebrated Romeo and Juliet as a counterpoint to his torrid
and unsafe affair with a woman betrothed to Lord Wessex; one of the
most influential and remarkable men in the city. The ups and downs, ins
and outs of this relationship, and its eventual destroy, are all
delightful to leer as well as being grist for the mill of
Shakespeare’s future plays.

For anyone that has even a passing
familiarity with the Bard’s work or unprejudiced likes a pleasant romance, take
the time to be pleased this special movie. In fact, choose a few times
because it gets better with every viewing.

I honestly did not know what to inquire when I first sat down to ogle “Shakespeare In Care For.” Perhaps that was for the best, since this film teems with unexpected moments and twists, turning literary history upside down and giving it a clever and bawdy twist.

Gywenth Paltrow plays a young noblewoman who is expected to be demurely betrothed, but who wants none of the life ahead of her. She yearns for the theater, and, in her headstrong, ambitious drive, dresses like a boy to win a share in Will Shakespeare’s newest drama. Of course, the two tumble in adore (hence the title!) and their duplicity leads to region complications that bag more and more imperfect. Literary jokes abound, but you don’t need to know a whit about Shakespeare to relish this romp. This is a romantic comedy cloaked in Elizabethian times, an anachronism that is thoroughly satisfying.

Paltrow’s Viola is gutsy, shining, and torn, a portrayal that deservedly earned her an Oscar. Joseph Fiennes makes a lovable, bumbling Will Shakespeare. The two explain a chemistry that brings the witty script to life and elevates this film to a level above most romantic comedies.

In other words, don’t launch getting ridiculous, going crazy and all, like Tupac’s best character ever, the one he came to maybe live out, some would say. This is Omar Epps first movie (I reflect) as well, and he was genuine, as was the guys who played Rahim and Steel. The movie is ample and well shot, with generous music throughout. It’s primarily the narrative of a dj (Epps), really, honest trying to come by on, and his friends, and the possibilities that can erupt in every man’s struggle for respect. Never mind the critics, they seem to critique all dark movies the same. This film is original. It’s NOT that violent, especially in the day of Quentin Tarantino or even Menace II Society. There’s cameos by tons of rappers, including Special Ed, EPMD, Latifah, Roguish by Nature, and others. But they’re slight and inconsequential roles for the most allotment (as they should be) . Don’t glance this movie as any commentary on Harlem or on shaded youths or any of that trash. Only racists try to generalize and accomplish every movie that a unlit person makes into an all-encompassing Statement of Reality. It’s overall a somewhat fun movie with a strong bite to it. And it’s got a classic soundtrack, the first of the many rap soundtracks that would reach out with every movie after this. It’s perfect, not too ambitious, doesn’t try too hard, isn’t a accurate “spin jerker” though it can be touching. Overall, I’d say its a classic and ten years later, its smooth as luscious.

Director Taylor Hackford doesn’t accomplish a lot of mistakes. But he points out one in the deleted scenes spot of this disc. “Against All Odds” is a loose 1980’s remake of Robert Mitchum’s film noir, “Out of the Past.” Jane Greer. femme fatale of the earlier film, plays mother to Rachel Ward, this film’s femme fatale. Richard Widmark, significant player in many earlier films noir, is on hand here too, in a shrimp but critically distinguished section. The set is station in motion when Jake Wise,(James Woods), well-connected nightclub owner and man of many parts, sets his aged friend, used-up venerable pro football player Terry Brogan (Jeff Bridges), to collect and return his runaway girlfriend Jessie Wyler (Rachel Ward), hiding somewhere in Mexico.

For starters, Mexico, Bridges and Ward have never looked hotter, the Ward-Bridges sex scenes are too darn hot, and the seemingly mandatory confusing LA accurate estate corruption subplot doesn’t cessation the main myth line wintry too often. The film was ably directed by Taylor Hackford, and the three principals carry their roles. There’s also a flavorful supporting cast: Swoosie Kurtz, Saul Rubinek, Alex Karras, Dorian Harewood. “Against All Odds” is a bit dated, stuck in the ’80’s, and it’s not the greatest noir myth ever told, but it offers a lot of visual heat. It also delivers on the emotional heat meter, at least to me: accurate to noir conventions, nobody gets what they want, surely not Terry Brogan, who realizes, belatedly, that Jessie Wyler is literally too hot for him to handle,and he’s going to have to leave her to her rich, distinguished mother. Yes, it’s been done before, possibly better, but “Against All Odds” stands and delivers on its maintain, and is worth a look-see.
